I apologize for my lack of updating. It's much quicker to just upload a picture then to write, what I hope, is a fun summary of what I've been stitching. I don't think I'll have another update until before Otakon, which is July 27th to July 29th. I've been busy with a new job as well, so I've been stitching less. Here's what I've managed to get done in 3 months!
This was an awesome special order for Studio Nasu, who I met at magfest. The ninja is from the Gameboy version of Final Fantasy.
I worked on this piece for about a month, and it's 8 by 10 inches. It was a special order that was made for a game tester. I hope they liked it!
This is my favorite piece this year! I started working on it in February, and just finished last week. It's the second clock I've made, the first was my Sonic clock. I used every current Eevee-lution, and the first four Pokeballs for the main numbers. The edges were a little rough, so I finished it with some black ribbon. I'll be selling it at Otakon this year, but it'll be hard to part with!
A few new updates for the month, mostly holiday orders, and boy am I swamped!
Here's the super awesome swap gift I received from $n0wflake! The sprites around the edges are from Okami and she used my Facebook logo for the main piece. I'm hoping to have it framed at my table for Magfest this year, it's the coolest banner I've ever seen!
This is part of a commission I'm working on. The two sprites are Beam Kirby from Super Star Ultra and Megaman from Battle Network.
This is another commission, this time it's Cinccino from Pokemon!
Finally, the last piece of art for Otakon is done! I'll be displaying this and five others in the art auction. Here's the latest: it's in a eight by ten frame.
Here's the full list of items that will be at the auction:
Ranma and Genma from Ranma 1/2-starting price $50
Super Street Fighter 2 Character Select Screen-starting price $100
Ichigo from Bleach-starting price $50
Pikachu Pile-starting price $50
Tardis Sampler "It's Bigger On The Inside"-starting price $25
Ugh, now I remember why I don't do big projects. I still have about 500 stitches to go and I'm starting to lose focus. So to cheer myself up and get back on track I did a pattern based on my favorite comic from VG Cats. (NSFW) I think it turned out pretty well, but I don't think I'll be stitching it up anytime soon. It's small but I think stitching all those pokeballs would give me a headache!
Thanks again to LittleMojo's patterns for this Rapidash. Just a little bigger then my last Pokemon but one of my favorites. I'll be working on some easy stuff next, but I'm still busy beating Portal for now!
Just a quick Pokemon from LittleMojo's patterns. It was a request from a friend and, I'll be honest, it made me feel old. I was in middle school when I first played FireRed, not catching the originals and I haven't kept up with any new ones. So when he asked for Pachirisu I thought it was a new version of Pikachu. Some of the new Pokemon are pretty cute, but I don't think the PokeRap is the same with over 300 names to say!
You may have heard that the new Final Fantasy game has come out this past week, so all I had time to do was a little project. It's for a friend's birthday, and I'm working on a bigger project for him too. The pokemon is done on plastic canvas this time, that way I can make it into a magnet or a pin or whatever else they want. The finished project came out to be about 2 by 2 inches. Don't worry though, I should beat FF13 in about a week, and get back to stitching full-time!
